LEADERS NEED TO GO FISHING FOR CHANGE

An edited version of this article appeared in the Business Spectator under the title "Change agents need to go fishing". In this article I argue that while leadership dialogue is essential for strategic challenges which are not purely technical but are adaptive, leaders still need to be very strategic and organised about their change initiatives if they wish to get any traction. I draw on lessons from work with the Great Barrier Reef Authority.
