Richard Searle is an Educator and Consultant with wide experience in Australia and internationally. He is educated at Harvard University and specialises in executive and management development, with a particular focus on leadership, strategic decision making and negotiation.
Richard is Director of management education consultancy Leaders & Searle and a long time Program Director and now Associate at Melbourne Business School Executive Education (formerly MBS Mt Eliza Executive Education). He has also consulted widely to Executive Teams and Senior Management Groups, and conducted development programs in the private and public sectors.
Richard is recognised by clients and managers as an exciting and inspiring teacher who brings his whole self to the way he develops leaders and executive teams – being open and challenging, embracing risk and finding the courage and compassion to deliver real and transformative outcomes.
Richard designed, and for ten years was Program Director for MBS/Mt Eliza's flagship senior leadership program Leading for Strategic Success. He guest facilitates with Professor Amanda Sinclair on her Leadership and Change Course for the Melbourne Business School MBA, as well as working with her on the Mindful Leadership Program. He has taught the Leading Innovative Teams' Course as part of the Innovation Practice Program for the Masters of Engineering at the University of Melbourne in partnership with a group of leading engineering and technology companies.
Richard is also lead Presenter for the Leadership On Top ("The LOT") Workshops and Programs conducted in-house for senior managers by Leaders & Searle.
Richard writes extensively about leadership and negotiation and his articles appear regularly in Australian and international business magazines. He is author of the book "Leadership On Top: How Managers and Others Become Leaders".
Richard has been a Consultant to the World Bank, a Senior Ministerial Advisor to the Victorian government, an Industrial Relations Negotiator, and an Activist in the community housing sector and international development field.
